Salisbury

Salisbury is a northern suburb of Adelaide and is situated approximately 25 kilometers from the city center. It is a densely populated region however it is dotted with parklands and wooded areas. The Little Para river winds its way through the suburb.
The suburb of Salisbury was founded around 1848 but John Harvey, and began it’s life as a small service center for the pastoral and cropping properties throughout the district. It is named after the city of the same name in the United Kingdom.
Over time the suburb grew to what is now a vibrant hub of residential and small business holdings. It stretches from the coast on the Gulf of St Vincent, all the way to the foothills, and covers approximately 160 square kilometers in area.
Situated a little north of the Adelaide CBD, Salisbury has a warmer climate with coastal effects. In the summer time temperatures of above 40 degrees Celsius are common. The area is prone to pest infestations like many other areas throughout the region. Spiders and rodents are in particular common within households and business premises, as are termites and possums.
